I
began practicing hot yoga in January of 2001. From my very first hot yoga
class I was practicing daily, loving the changes the yoga was making to
my body, but even more so to my mind! I loved that 90 minutes of uninterrupted,
focused time. I received my Bikram
Yoga Teaching Certification in 2001. In 2004 I attended Jimmy Barkan’s
level II teacher training for certification to teach Hot Vinyasa Yoga. In
2006 I attended Jimmy
Barkan’s level III Advanced Teacher training. In addition I have
attended workshops with Patricia
Walden, Doug Swenson,
and Baron Baptiste.
Recently I have been studying with David Magone and his Pranavayu
Yoga style. David has recently been named one of the top 25 yoga teachers
in the country. I am a registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga
Alliance at the RYT200 and E-RYT500 levels with over 5,000 teaching
hours. My classes incorporate a mix of postures and knowledge from my various
teachers as well as my own practice. I believe yoga is for every body and
I assist my students in finding their own practice and letting the inner
joy and power within them grow. It’s an honor and a thrill to share
this yoga with others and to see them learn and grow in their yoga practice
and in their lives..

Michelle
practicing yoga in the mid 90’s to help alleviate life long problems
with her back. Through practice she not only found a strong, tall spine,
but also peace through meditation, power through breath work, and so much
more.
With teaching, she hopes to offer her students the opportunity to discover the joy of yoga for themselves. She encourages all students to make their practice personal, and to practice with compassion, fluidity, and grace, while bringing a sense of joy and lightness to the mat.
Michelle
is certified in Kripalu yoga and teaches with influences in Kripalu, Vinyasa
flow and Hot Yoga.
While residing on the north shore, Michelle loves to travel, study, and
have fun with her two Yorkies.
Stephanie
Lucero
Stephanie came across yoga after enduring several knee injuries
from playing vigorous sports and being a collegiate athlete. Stephanie immediately
found that yoga was able to give her the balance that she needed in her
life. She felt more calm and present with herself. She knew that she wanted
to share yoga with others.
You can find in her class fun and intricate flows guided through breath. Stephanie’s teaching style is inspired by Vinyassa, Power, Forrest and Hatha. She graduated with her 200 hour level certification from Finding Inner Peace and presently is continuing her training with David Vendetti to receive her advance training at the 500 hour level.
Sandy
Kalik
Sandy is a certified yoga instructor at Prana Power Yoga, as well
as an independent marketing consultant. She teaches vinyasa and power yoga
classes that emphasize deepening connections to breath and body. Sandy believes
in the transformative power of yoga because she has experienced it first
hand in her relationships, career path and awareness of self. Through yoga
and mindful living, she believes that anyone can achieve balance of the
mind, body and spirit. In addition to her 200-hour yoga certification through
Prana Power Yoga, she holds two undergraduate degrees from Boston University--one
in communications (PR), the other in archaeology.

After
taking my first hot yoga class at Yoga Moves in 2005 I was instantly hooked.
I found myself totally immersed in the moment. Yoga entered my life at
a time when I needed it the most. Yoga allows me to be who I am without
struggle. I embrace the notion of knowledge as truly infinite, allowing
myself to be open to this wonderful and fulfilling practice. Yoga has
brought balance to my life in all facets, physically, mentally and spiritually.
I am so grateful and blessed to be practicing and teaching where this
journey all began a few years ago.
Possessing an exuberant teaching style, classes are Vinyasa inspired, focusing on alignment, assists and well thought out sequences. I allow my students to learn, live, play and grow in an open and non-judgmental space. I completed my 200-hour teacher training course with David Vendetti in June 2008.

Yoga
has been a gateway to accessing joy in my life, and my hope in teaching
is to share that joy with others. I came to yoga looking for stress relief
and found on the mat a deep sense of peace and purpose. I firmly believe
that yoga is for everyone. Whether you can put your foot behind your head
or barely touch your toes, yoga has so much to offer — physically,
emotionally, mentally.
I encourage students to smile, laugh, and celebrate their bodies and lives through their yoga practice. Classes offer creative, challenging flows, safe alignment cues, and light-hearted encouragement to be exactly as you are.
I'm endlessly grateful to my teacher David Vendetti, with whom I completed my 200 hour teacher training in June of 2008, as well as to the other teachers and yogis from whom I have learned so much. I am currently working toward my 500 hour certification, which will be complete in May of 2010.

My path in yoga began quietly in the late ’60’s with
readings of Paramahansa Yogananda, Swami Vivekananada, and Yogi Vithaldis.
But this was just foreshodowing, as I did not continue with an asana practice.
Many years later, I began a practice in martial arts and meditation. From there, I found a natural progression and connection to Hatha yoga (asana practice) at Yoga Moves.
As the spark grew brighter, I took classes in Yin Yoga and found a similarity to the natural way I practiced at home. Studying the roots of the Yin movement, I found the associations with martial arts, Taoisam, Buddhism, eastern thought, medicine, and meditation very much in line with the direction towards which I had been guided.
“Yoga is a practice” and as a musician I am appreciative o fthe fact that it is the practice itself that brings joy, without even consideration for future benefits. I try to keep my beginners mind, and hope to share this scintilla with you.

My yogi journey began in 1999 when I took my first yoga class.
I had a background in dancing and was looking for something physically
challenging but found yoga offered much more. From there, I have been
influenced by and practiced many styles of yoga including vinyasa, Iyengar,
Ashtanga and Kundalini. My personal practice incorporates everything from
a vigorous flow, yin practices and restorative poses. My classes encourage
individuals to make the practice their own and to become fully attuned
to your physical, mental and spiritually being. I a certified 200 hour
RYT with the Yoga Alliance. In addition, I am certified in Level II Reiki
and a practitioner of meditation.
