This workshop is offered to students between the ages of 12-18.
Preregistration is required, cost is $75 per session, space is limited to 18 participants
Yoga represents the essence of a holistic approach to health. It helps regulate physical and emotional states. In this summer camp, participants will experience the different components of yoga, such as self-awareness, learning to regulate emotions, compassion for self and others, and relaxation exercises that can be practiced on and off the yoga mat. The camp helps to develop social and emotional learning (SEL) skills utilizing an evidence-based curriculum developed by Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and approved by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). No prior experience is needed.
Summer camp session #1: During this summer camp session participants will understand the relevance of self-regulation, learn mind-body techniques for managing stress, cultivate self-observation without judgment, and learn to apply self-management techniques in daily life.
Summer camp session #2: During this summer camp session, participants will deepen their understanding of self-regulation, practice facing challenging experiences with skillfulness, encourage/reinforce the need for resting & replenishing the body and mind. In addition, participants will deepen their self-management practices in class/daily life
Prerequisite: participants have taken Summer camp session #1.
